Spring has sprung – despite the promise of snow at some point – and it’s an exciting time here at Century. With lots of new projects starting and fantastic installations being completed, it’s great to focus on what we do best – bringing value to our customers.

With that in mind, we thought we’d recap some of our March highlights.

Protecting Europe’s 2nd largest police station

This month we started planning a new project at Europe’s 2nd largest police station. Building on a strong existing relationship, we will help to strengthen their existing security setup by replacing their Century swing gates with brand new bespoke, bi-fold speed gates. We continue to be incredibly proud of the work we do with them – they protect our society and our citizens, and we’re honoured to protect them!

Keeping students secure

We work with a number of schools in the Leicestershire area and beyond to help them keep pupils and staff safe and secure with our security solutions. In March we were pleased to begin working with another institution, Saint Martin’s Catholic Academy in Stoke Golding, who we’ll be supporting with ongoing service and maintenance on their automatic gates. Ongoing maintenance on automatic gates and barriers is incredibly important – not only to make sure they’re functioning correctly but also to be able to demonstrate compliance with key industry standards such as the Machinery Directive.

Completing numerous new barrier installations

As well as embarking on new projects, March saw us complete a number of installations too. These included new barriers at large logistical and manufacturing sites in Bristol and Bicester, helping to carefully manage and control access to their facilities and the constant flow of vehicles and visitors.

Investors in People

At Century, making our team feel supported and giving them opportunity to develop in their role is vital for us. We currently hold an Investors in People (IIP) accreditation, and in March we had our annual audit. We hope to receive good news on this soon. Our IIP accreditation is part of a continued focus on our people, and in 2019 alone we have moved two team members into new roles with more responsibility and more opportunity to develop their skills.
