When it comes to security, no two organisations, or homes, are the same. Each business or home owner has different priorities and requirements, and each type of premises brings with it a new set of challenges. That’s why at Century, on-site visits and audits are so important – it’s vital that our team can consult with the customer and design the perfect solution for them.
So important in fact, that we’ve recently massively expanded our sales team and promoted one of our key players, Gavin Russell, to a new position as Commercial Manager. We had a chat to Gavin about his new role and what he enjoys bringing to the table at Century.
How long have you been with Century?
I’ve been with Century just over 3 years. I was an engineer for many years, but I was looking for progression and to get off the tools. I started as Operations Manager, but I soon realised that I had a real passion for getting in front of customers and designing them the right solution. When an opportunity opened up for Business Development Manager, I jumped at it, and I worked my way up to Technical Sales Manager, until now!
What are you looking forward to most about your new role?
As Commercial Manager, I’ll oversee all aspects of Sales and Operations – I’m really looking forward to being able to dedicate more time to designing solutions, as well as having my own team to develop. I’ll need to have my finger on the pulse even more than I do now – staying on top of the latest solutions – and thinking about how we can apply these to new and ongoing projects, and how can we meet arising security threats.
What do you enjoy most about your role at Century?
I absolutely thrive off making our customers happy – seeing a new project through from beginning to end and designing a solution that delivers exactly what they need, and then continuing to support them. I love a challenge, and I feel an incredible sense of pride when Century can continue to rise to new challenges. It’s been fantastic to see Century grow over my time here, and I’m sure there’s more to come!
