The last few months has been a period of growth and change for Century – we’ve restructured our internal teams to provide a more streamlined service to your customers, and we’ve bought on three additions to our engineering team. One of those is Anthony Sissons, who’s the subject of our staff spotlight this week.

How long have you been with Century?

Around 3 months – I joined in May. I’ve been an engineer in the security industry for 4 years. Prior to that I was a telecoms engineer, and before that I travelled the world in the armed forces!

What is your role at Century?

I’m a Service Engineer. I’m a fault finding guy. I’m mainly out on customer sites maintaining CCTV systems, fire alarms, intruder alarms and access control systems fixing any faults I come across.

What are you enjoying about Century so far?

There’s a real family atmosphere in the business. Although it’s a decent sized and well-established firm and we offer a great professional service, everyone gets on really well and there’s a real closeness. I’m really enjoying being part of the team and I’ve been made to feel very welcome. I get to work on a variety of projects and clients, which I also really enjoy.

What do you enjoy most about being an engineer in this industry?

Definitely the variety. I’ve travelled the world, so I’m used to being out and about in different places.I’d get bored if everyday was the same, and there’s no danger of that in my role! I really enjoy solving problems, and I’m good at it! I get real enjoyment out of figuring out what’s causing a fault and fixing it. I also really enjoy seeing a project through from start to finish – going from a completely blank canvas of a customer having nothing in place to having a complete, brand new CCTV or access control system up and running. It’s really satisfying to see the results of my work, especially when the customer is happy!
